When the Buffalo Bills' 2025 NFL draft began, it seemed poised for a year for the team to bolster their defense and get Josh Allen some additional weapons to be competitive in the upcoming season.
Buffalo wound up spending a large portion of their draft capital on the defensive side of the football , but that doesn't mean Buffalo Bills GM Brandon Beane didn't provide Allen with any weapons. Beane made a splash using free agency as his avenue to pick up rising star WR Joshua Palmer, who is looking to make an immediate impact on the roster

On March 10, 2025, the Buffalo Bills and Josh Palmer agreed to terms on a 3-year, $36M deal as reported by Adam Schefter. Buffalo added a stud for Josh Allen, and it's not hard to see why Brandon Beane was determined to bring Palmer in.

Palmer, throughout his NFL career with the Los Angeles Chargers, had 182 receptions on 282 targets for 2,287 yards and 10 touchdowns. The 2021 third-round pick spent his first 4 seasons with the Chargers and had a career year in 2022, which saw him haul in 70 catches for a 769-yard outing. There have been some limited injury concerns with Palmer as he's missed 10 games due to injury over the past several seasons.
Famously, Sean McDermott has opened up about how when you come to Buffalo, you become the best version of yourself. The team is hoping for more of the same from Palmer and trying to find ways to squeeze out a similar performance from his 2022 campaign.

The free agent signing has put together some solid practices so far in Pittsford and has already demonstrated some chemistry with QB Josh Allen.#BillsMafia @WGRZ pic.twitter.com/B6X0N6f0vn
With his first training camp underway with the Buffalo Bills, the biggest thing is to make sure that the chemistry between WR and QB is top-notch. Early reports are suggesting just that as Palmer figures out the offense and finds new ways to have his number called on the offense.
Perhaps even more impressive is how Palmer is talking about his MVP QB and what he's hoping to give to the Buffalo Bills' superstar QB. This is the type of culture that McDermott and Beane have built, and in just a few short weeks, Palmer seems like a seasoned vet on the roster.
Taking time away from his busy schedule with Bills training camp and his own personal endeavors, the talented WR opened up to the media on his relationship with Josh Allen. Speaking with News 8 sports reporter, Rachel Libert.
As WR Josh Palmer begins his first season with the @BuffaloBills, he says he wants to make Josh Allen better.

Yes, you read that right - he wants to make the NFL's MVP better. He explained to me what he means: pic.twitter.com/Ak4v4jb2vB
Palmer began, "I'm trying to do my best to make him better." The talented WR must have understood how ridiculous the initial statement must have made, he continued, "Of course he's the MVP, so people probably think, 'how can he get better?' but there's always things as a competitor that you want to get better at."
Wrapping up, Palmer highlighted his singular focus right now, "I'm here to make his life easy. However way I can do that, that's my goal. If I can make his life easy, he can make my life easy."
You love to see it. Coming into this season, you can tell how hungry Palmer is to compete and showcase to the NFL that he can be a top-tier weapon. With Josh Allen throwing the football, there's no telling what this duo can pull off on the field.
All eyes are going to be on the offense as Josh Allen and the Buffalo Bills look to recreate some of their magic from last season, which saw them fall just shy of reaching a Super Bowl. With Palmer on the team, could this be the move that gets them over the hump?
