The Buffalo Bills offense will certainly look a little different this season. While Josh Allen will still be leading the way, the team will be without two of their key weapons.
Stefon Diggs was traded to the Houston Texans in April, while Gabe Davis signed with the Jacksonville Jaguars in full agency. So it was no surprise that the Bills biggest need in the draft was a wide receiver.
With the No. 33 overall pick in the 2024 NFL Draft, the Bills selected Florida State wide receiver Keon Coleman. And coming into an organization that just lost it's top two receivers can't be easy for the rookie.
However, he's not focused on that at all. At least that's what he said when asked if he feels any pressure to replace Davis and Diggs.
"Not at all," Coleman told CBS Sports. "All I gotta do is come in, be myself, be who I'm supposed to be ... Because I'm not Gabe, I'm not Stef, I'm just Keon. We got a lot of other guys that definitely complement my game ... along with [quarterback] Josh [Allen], to make things work."
And even Josh Allen seems very excited to work with Coleman.
"I think my first impressions are that he loves football," Allen said back in May. "And that’s the number one thing. Guys who love football and do things the right way typically play a long time in this league. So, he’s definitely got the makeup and the mindset. He’s learning the playbook at an accelerated rate — we’re kind of throwing him into the fire in OTAs right now and forcing his hand there, which is good to see. But he’s handling it in stride. Physically, he’s a big guy who can move and drop his hips — he can move and catch a back-shoulder ball. The physical attributes are there, and it’s fun to play with that."
Coleman quickly became a fan-favorite in Buffalo, providing Bills Mafia with a memorable introductory press conference. He proved he was ready for the cold Buffalo weather, talking very highly of his new yellow coat he purchased at Macy's.
From there, things just got better and better.
A young fan sent Coleman some beaded friendship bracelets with the Bills colors to celebrate him joining the team. And the receiver loved the gift so much that he decided to wear them in his rookie photos.
So one thing is for sure: everyone is excited to see what Coleman can do.
