Bills rule out 2 starters ahead of playoff game vs. Broncos

Josh Allen and the No. 6 Buffalo Bills are set to take on the No. 1 seed Denver Broncos in the Divisional Round.

The Bills are fresh off a 27-24 win over the No. 3 seed Jacksonville Jaguars. On Thursday, the Bills did get some unfortunate news as head coach Sean McDermott ruled out two players ahead of the game.

“Bills head coach Sean McDermott ruled out two players for Saturday’s AFC Divisional Round against the Denver Broncos: safety Jordan Poyer (hamstring) and cornerback Maxwell Hairston (ankle),” according to the team’s official injury report.

Poyer had a pair of tackles against the Jaguars and was labeled as week-to-week. Hairston suffered an ankle injury in the season finale against the New York Jets and he did not play in the Wild Card game.

Both Poyer and Hairston are defensive starters for the Bills, so this is a tough blow to a team that has dealt with plenty of injuries.

Earlier in the week, wide receivers Gabe Davis and Tyrell Shavers were ruled out for the season after suffering torn ACLs, although Shavers somehow played the entire second half against the Jaguars despite the injury.
