The Buffalo Bills are already in great shape at quarterback thanks to NFL MVP candidate Josh Allen.
But the Bills also find themselves in a special situation when it comes to Allen.
So while depth at the QB position can always come in handy, Buffalo has just signed another player there due to a sort of “good emergency.”
Buffalo is lining up for its relatively meaningless regular-season finale against the New England Patriots on Sunday.
And just now, veteran quarterback Mike White has been signed to its active roster. In fact, White is signing a one-year contract extension that runs through the 2025 season… so this can be more than temporary mop-up duty behind Josh Allen
White will be available for the Bills in Week 18. … but what is the rush?
In short, Allen is going to start this game and then exit in order to extend his iron man streak … while also keeping himself healthy for the playoffs.
So Josh will do his thing. And No. 2 guy Mitch Trubisky is available to do the same.
And to help mop up? Now White - who has been on the practice squad but who also has plenty of experience as a starter - is in play.
White also knows his way around the AFC East, having played with the New York Jets and with the Miami Dolphins.
