Bills Still Lurking In Rival's Shadow In Power Rankings

The Buffalo Bills will enter the 2025 season with perhaps their best chance at finally claiming their first Super Bowl trophy.

With a loaded roster, the Bills are expected to again sweep through the AFC East, secure a home playoff game, and potentially be the No. 1 seed.

But as is always the case for Buffalo, one team gives them nightmares, and it is the Kansas City Chiefs. Being 0-4 in the postseason against Patrick Mahomes isn't ideal, and for most, until the Bills can slay their bogeyman, there will always be a doubt over their credentials.

And for Mike Florio of Pro Football Talk, in his latest power rankings, the Bills come in at No. 3, but are still in the shadow of their rival.

"The window is still wide open, but the Chiefs are still blocking full daylight," Florio writes.

Buffalo's Super Bowl window will remain open as long as Josh Allen plays quarterback, but the past couple of seasons have shown that the franchise cannot get past Mahomes and the Chiefs.

Is 2025 the year when the Bills finally step out of the Chiefs' shadow, slay them in the postseason, and win the Super Bowl? We can hear Bills Mafia screaming yes, but there are doubts given the previous history between the two.

But surely Buffalo has to eventually get one over its rivals, right? There has to be a time when this nightmare ends for Allen and the Bills fans because right now, Mahomes is the only one stopping the franchise from Super Bowl glory.

And until the Bills beat the Chiefs when it counts, not in the regular season, they will always be in the shadow of their AFC rival.
