The Buffalo Bills will look to build on their statement win against the Detroit Lions when they face the New England Patriots on Sunday.
The Bills handed the Lions their second loss of the season, potentially shaking up the standings at the top of both conferences with the playoffs just three weeks away.
The win clearly didn't go unnoticed by oddsmakers in Las Vegas, either. Heading into Week 16, the Lions have dropped from the consensus Super Bowl favorites to the third-favorite team (+500). Inversely, following the win, the Bills took Detroit's place as the consensus favorites to take home the Lombardi Trophy at +400 odds.
Behind the Bills are the Philadelphia Eagles at +480. The Eagles are now tied for the top seed in the NFC with the Lions and the Minnesota Vikings. Philadelphia has also won 10-straight games. Since the Bills and Eagles won't face off in the regular season, the soonest they could play each other is in the Super Bowl.
The next-closest team in the AFC behind the Bills are the Kansas City Chiefs with +500 odds. Although Buffalo currently has better Super Bowl odds, the Chiefs still have the best record in the NFL and the No. 1 seed in the AFC at 13-1, so if those standings hold, the Bills would have to travel to Kansas City in the postseason to reach the championship.
Regardless, at 11-3, the Bills are in a strong position with a favorable remaining schedule and a relatively-healthy roster with the playoffs quickly approaching.
