Bills Truth Reveals 1 Thing Stopping Super Bowl Destiny

The Buffalo Bills last season were one of the most consistent teams in football with Josh Allen winning MVP as the leader of one of the best offenses in the NFL.

But while the Bills won the AFC East at a canter with a 13-4 record, they didn't have the best record on the road.

Yes, they were undefeated at Highmark Stadium, which Sean McDermott has turned into a fortress (unless the Chiefs come to town), but all of Buffalo's regular-season losses came on the road.

And for CBS Sports' John Breech, fixing those road woes is key to consolidating their status as an AFC top dog.

"The Bills struggled on the road last year, going 5-4, so you'll want to keep an eye on how they do starting in Week 10," Breech writes. "That's when they'll start a stretch where they'll play five of seven games on the road with those away games coming against the Dolphins, Steelers, Texans, Patriots and Browns. Those are all winnable games, but based on how Buffalo has played on the road, it wouldn't be surprising if they slip up in a game or two during that stretch."

So that is one thing the Bills have to sort out.

Week 10 is the crucial starting block, and as Breech points out, five road contests in seven games could be the defining period for the Bills if they still harbor hopes of clinching a top playoff seeding.

Yes, the opponents are ones that if the Bills play to their capabilities, have a good shot at winning, but it is worth noting Buffalo lost to the Texans on the road, who they again play in 2025 and the Patriots, who they lost to in Week 18 (rested a lot of starters).

Given how close the margins are for the AFC's elite, the Bills, if they want to clinch the No. 1 seed, might have to run the table here and fix their road woes in the process.
