Bills vs. Browns Preseason Game Suspended Due To Weather
Scott Galvin-USA TODAY Sports.

If you were hoping to watch the Buffalo Bills and Cleveland Browns this Saturday afternoon, you’re going to have to wait for Mother Nature to cooperate.

The Bills-Browns game at Huntington Bank Field has been temporarily suspended due to lighting in the area. This decision was made with 13:30 left in the first quarter. Bills backup quarterback Kyle Allen completed an 18-yard pass to Trent Sherfield right before the inclement weather ruined the party.

“It got dark and started pouring here in an instant. Loud crack of thunder on 3rd play of game, then a couple of plays later the refs paused play,” Bills reporter Jonathan Acosta said.

Crucial preseason game for Shedeur.

Whenever this game resumes, the spotlight will be firmly on Browns quarterback Shedeur Sanders. He needs a good performance to improve his chances of winning the Week 1 job.

“For Shedeur Sanders’ start today vs. Bills, the Browns will rest some starters but not all,” ESPN’s Jeremy Fowler said.  “LT Spencer Fano and WR Denzel Boston will play, I’m told.”

Sanders, the No. 144 overall pick from last year’s draft, finished last year’s season with 1,400 passing yards with seven touchdowns and 10 interceptions.

If Sanders stumbles against the Bills, there’s a good chance Deshaun Watson will be named the starter for Todd Monken’s offense.
