The Buffalo Bills are expected to bench second-year wide receiver Keon Coleman for the second straight game when they face the Houston Texans on "Thursday Night Football" in Week 12.
Coleman ranks among Josh Allen's top three receivers on the team in all major statistical categories with 32 receptions for 330 yards and three touchdowns in the 2025 NFL season.
As punishment for missing a team meeting, Coleman was a healthy scratch for the first time in his career last Sunday. The Bills beat the Tampa Bay Buccaneers 44-32 without Coleman, who stated after the game, "Just got to be better."
To get a perspecitve on the situation from inside the Bills locker room, FanDuel TV's Kay Adams spoke to Bills wide receiver Tyrell Shavers on the "Up and Adams Show" on Thursday before their game against the Texans.
"I just want to say he's not perfect," Shavers said of Coleman. "He's human at the end of the day. We all are human. Everybody makes mistakes, and he's learning from them. We've got to remember that he's young."

Shavers, 26, referred to Coleman, 22, as his "little brother." He said that they both support each other no matter who is getting opportunities on the field.
Shavers only had one reception in his NFL career before this season. With Coleman and tight end Dalton Kincaid out against Tampa Bay, Shavers had a breakout game with four catches for 90 yards and a touchdown.

As a former practice squad player who spent long stretches on the sidelines waiting for his chance, Shavers used the interview to remind fans why negative comments can be especially harmful to players in Coleman's situation.
"Going back to the Marshawn Kneeland situation — R.I.P. to him as well — mental health is real," Shavers said. "Everybody's bashing (Coleman), talking about him. I'm not saying he's in a bad spot or anything, but also let's just remember that he's human at the same time and he will learn from these mistakes and he will bounce back."
Shavers is expected to start again on Thursday with Kincaid and wide receiver Curtis Samuel and Mecole Hardman ruled out due to injuries. Their game against the Texans kicks off at 8:15 p.m. ET from NRG Stadium in Houston and can be streamed live on Amazon Prime Video.
