Bizarre Negativity Found In Chiefs' 2025 Schedule

The Kansas City Chiefs have been one of, if not the most consistent team over the past three seasons, making the Super Bowl each year, winning two.

With Patrick Mahomes still as polarizing as ever, and the Chiefs having an uncanny knack for playing in and winning close games, most want to see No. 15 strut his stuff each week.

But not everyone.

The full 2025 schedule was released last week, and as always, there are a couple of quirks, and for the Chiefs, over half of their games are standalone outings in prime time.

And that doesn't sit well with CBS Sports' Jeff Kerr.

"The Chiefs are a ratings juggernaut and are fun to watch every week," Kerr writes. "That being said, the NFL gave the team that has won three Super Bowls over the last six seasons too much exposure. This year, the NFL decided to give the Chiefs seven prime-time games -- the most in the league. The Chiefs are playing in five prime-time games over the first eight weeks, tied for the most of any team in NFL history.

"Kansas City actually has 10 standalone games, or 58.8% of the regular-season schedule."

That is a lot of prime time games for the Chiefs, but do they deserve it?

Having made the Super Bowl each of the last three seasons, as Kerr stated, they are a ratings juggernaut, and what does the NFL love more than money? Nothing.

The Chiefs bring eyeballs, which in turn bring revenue for the league, which is likely why Mahomes and Co. are in prime time so often in 2025.

Granted, having over half your schedule as standalone games is a bit much, but if there is one team that might deserve that kind of treatment, it's Kansas City.
