The Buffalo Bills have a medley of talent on both sides of the ball.
That said, their talent off the edge is somewhat lacking in terms of having a star edge rusher. Buffalo signed Von Miller ahead of the 2022 season, and he totaled eight sacks before tearing his ACL late in the season. Miller struggled in 2023, totaling just three tackles in 12 games.
While the Bills re-signed A.J. Epenesa, they still need a true star pass rusher. Gary Davenport of Bleacher Report agrees, and proposed a trade with the Los Angeles Chargers that would land Buffalo Joey Bosa in exchange for a third-round pick
"Only one player for Buffalo eclipsed 10 sacks last season - edge-rusher Leonard Floyd, who is now in San Francisco," Davenport wrote. "Buffalo's projected starters on the edge (Gregory Rousseau and A.J. Epenesa) combined for 11.5 sacks a year ago."
"Making a deep postseason run isn't going to be easy if the team can't pressure the likes of Patrick Mahomes of the Kansas City Chiefs or Joe Burrow of the Cincinnati Bengals. Let alone Tua Tagovailoa of the Miami Dolphins and Aaron Rodgers of the New York Jets inside their own division."
The Bills need one of their current edge rushers to step up. A trade for Bosa mid-season wouldn't be a bad idea at all if Epenesa and/or Rousseau both remain stagnant and don't take a step forward.
