Winners of three-straight contests, it's not easy for Bo Nix and the Denver Broncos to take their foot off the pedal ahead of a Week 14 bye. Nix is hungry to get back to work after a much-needed reset, per Jon Heath of the Broncos' Wire.
“We’re going for a playoff spot," Nix said. "We’re going for longer in the season. So it’s going to be good for us. I think the guys are going to enjoy it, but we’re also going to be I think excited to get back and finish this thing out the right way.”
The 8-5 Broncos are the No. 7 seed in the AFC, one of three AFC West teams that would make the postseason if they began today. Denver has a 77% chance of making the playoffs.
Given Denver's improved standing and Nix's impressive play, he's soared up the odds leaderboard to win NFL Rookie of the Year . Washington Commanders star Jayden Daniels quickly earned the role of the award's favorite to start the 2024 season, but the two signal-callers are drawing closer to even odds as the season reaches its homestretch.
By outscoring their opponents by 71 this season, Denver has the ninth-best point differential in the NFL, ahead of other notable AFC teams like the Baltimore Ravens, Kansas City Chiefs and Houston Texans.
After Denver's Week 14 bye, the Broncos will host the Indianapolis Colts, the AFC's No. 8 seed, their first and only matchup this season against an AFC South team.
