Boise State Broncos running back Ashton Jeanty said an NFC East team is his dream destination. Perhaps it should grant his wish.
Jeanty recently declared for the 2025 NFL Draft, scheduled for April 24-26 in Green Bay. In a Saturday interview with Pat Doney of KXAS-TV in Fort Worth, the RB said he wants the Dallas Cowboys to draft him. Of course, he played at Lone Star High School in Frisco, Texas, where the Cowboys' headquarters are located.
"I would love to play for the Cowboys," Jeanty said. "It'd be like a dream come true. Obviously, I used to play in their practice stadium, and all our games in high school, even my freshman year when we came down here for the Frisco Bowl, we practiced there again."
"So, it would just feel like I'm at home, honestly. I ain't going to say too much, but Dallas, they've always had a good running back, and when they've got a good running back, they play a lot better."

This past season, the Cowboys (7-10) lacked a feature back, which may be one reason they missed the playoffs for the first time since 2020.
After former Dallas RB Tony Pollard signed with the Tennessee Titans in free agency, the Cowboys reunited with RB Ezekiel Elliott. The former Pro Bowler didn't recapture his elite form.
In 15 regular-season games with Dallas, Elliott rushed for a career-low 226 yards on 74 carries.
Cowboys RB Rico Dowdle — a free agent this offseason — ran for a career-high 1,079 yards in 16 games. Still, Dallas' backfield needs more juice. The Cowboys finished 27th in the league in rushing yards (100.3).
Jeanty — who finished second in Heisman voting behind Colorado WR/CB Travis Hunter — could help Dallas improve its rushing attack.
This past season, he carried Boise State to the College Football Playoff. In 14 games, he rushed for 2,601 yards, the second most in a season FBS history behind former Oklahoma State star Barry Sanders (2,628 yards in 11 games).
The Cowboys have the No. 12 pick in the draft. While some teams have avoided using top-15 picks on RBs in recent years, Jeanty could be a worthwhile selection for Dallas.
