Bolts Sign Linebacker to Add Special Teams Depth

Lynch is a 26-year-old linebacker who has spent time with the Minnesota Vikings from 2020-2021 on their regular season squad.

2021 was Lynch's biggest year as he played three-quarters of the special teams snaps and almost a fourth of the defensive snaps for the Vikings and racked up 35 total tackles for the team.

The 6'3 233 pound linebacker from Baylor went undrafted but has managed to stay around NFL teams by being willing to play anywhere and do anything to help the team win.

Since then Lynch has bounced around practice squads and finding his way to the Chargers in 2023 before being cut after the preseason.

Now, with a potential special teams void that needs to be filled, Lynch is going into practice looking to possibly compete for special teams reps.

While the special team unit is not the biggest concern for the Chargers it is always good to have depth and players that already know the system and can quickly come up to speed mid-season.

Look for Lynch to possibly be activated before the Chargers face off against the Chicago Bears in a game that will feature many new faces like the Bears starting quarterback Tyson Bagent who is filling in for Justin Fields as he recovers from a dislocated thumb on his throwing hand.
