Booger McFarland: Texans GM Bill O'Brien is 'terrible'

ESPN analyst Booger McFarland has some strong opinions about Houston Texans head coach and general manager Bill O'Brien. After he traded DeAndre Hopkins away and added Brandin Cooks via trade with the Los Angeles Rams, McFarland couldn't help but discuss how bad of a GM O'Brien has been.

O'Brien traded Hopkins for a frequently injured running back in David Johnson and a second-round pick from the Arizona Cardinals. Cooks, who he also brought in, also has a lengthy injury history and absolutely is no better than Hopkins.

Now, O'Brien and Hopkins didn't have the best relationship, but McFarland says the Texans GM should have put his personal feelings aside to keep one of the best receivers in the game in Texas.

The Hopkins trade isn't the only time O'Brien has ditched a star in the making. He sent Jadeveon Clowney to the Seattle Seahawks in September for Jacob Martin, Barkevious Mingo and a 2020 third-round pick.

O'Brien has made his team worse over the years, but that doesn't mean he doesn't have some solid players to work with for the 2020 season. He still has Deshaun Watson, Will Fuller, J.J. Watt, Kenny Stills and Randall Cobb, among others.

The Texans went 10-6 last season and won the AFC South, but they'll face more pressure from Ryan Tannehill and the Tennessee Titans in 2020, so having Hopkins and Clowney onboard could have helped them lock up the AFC South for another year. But now there's no guarantees.
