California’s known as the “Golden State” due to the California Gold Rush, which attracted fortune seekers who boosted the population. By August 1948, 4,000 gold miners were in California, and within a year, about 8,000 “forty-niners” arrived at California’s gold fields. The San Francisco 49ers’ team name was coined from the so-called “forty-niners.”

Speaking of the 49ers, the 49ers’ Levi’s Stadium ranked second in Pickwise’s new research, which ranked the stadium of every NFL team to discover which stadiums are the Most Instagrammable. Instagrammability, the visual storytelling in Instagram marketing, is crucial because it influences personal choices, business strategies, and even urban planning techniques.

But the 49ers’ Levi’s Stadium wasn’t the only stadium mentioned in Pickwise’s research. The Los Angeles Rams and Chargers’ SoFi Stadium was also mentioned. Here’s why both California stadiums ranked among America’s Most Instagrammable, along with the other American stadiums that made the cut.
