New York Jets running back Breece Hall is battling a knee injury, but reports indicate the former second-round pick will suit up for the team’s battle against the New York Jets. Hall is currently in the final year of his rookie contract and is one of the biggest names on the trade block.

Breece Hall Injury Update: Star RB Will Play In Jets-Bengals Despite Knee Injury

Breece Hall playing isn’t too surprising, as the Jets injury report throughout the week suggested the second-round pick would suit up. While he was officially listed as questionable, he was a full participant on Friday and managed to practice in a limited capacity on Wednesday and Thursday.

Hall has been one of the few productive players on the New York Jets offense. Starting in all seven games, the Iowa State product has recorded 448 yards on 99 carries, although he’s still looking for his first touchdown. Despite his solid performance on the ground, the Jets are 0-7 and in the midst of another tumultuous season. Quarterback Justin Fields has not played up to expectations, and owner Woody Johnson is openly attacking the passer in the media. While he will start against the Bengals, the team could permanently switch to veteran Tyrod Taylor once he’s healthy enough to play.

Sunday could very well be the final game of the Breece Hall Era, assuming the knee injury doesn’t kill his trade value. New York’s chances of reaching the posteason are essentially zero, and the team should focus on building towards the future. Seeing as Hall will be a free agent at the end of the season, the Jets could sell him for whatever they can get, rather than watch him walk for nothing. Several teams should be interested in a Breece Hall trade and could surrender a decent pick for his services.
