Brian Daboll Announces Decision On Coaching Staff After Stunning Loss

The Giants sunk to 2-5 on Sunday after an awful fourth quarter collapse that saw the Denver Broncos score 33 points over the game's final 14 minutes.

New York followed up its impressive 34-17 upset of the Eagles on Thursday night with an equally disappointing performance in Week 7's final frame — despite more than solid play from rookie QB Jaxson Dart (late interception notwithstanding).

Brian Daboll is now 20-37-1 as the head coach of the G-Men, with his one winning season being his first year on the job. Leading many to wonder if his future in NY last's beyond this latest loss.

Brian Daboll 'not considering' changes

Speaking to reporters at Monday's press conference, Daboll shared that he's not considering making any changes to his coaching staff despite leading by 18 points with just six minutes to go and his apparent disgust with defensive coordinator Shane Bowen towards the end of the game.

“We all got to do a better job," Daboll said, via The Athletic's Charlotte Carroll. "Starts with me, and there's plenty of opportunities to finish that game the way we wanted to. We didn't get the job done.”

Giants players emotional after loss

Several members of New York's team were understandably frustrated and embarrassed by the loss. Especially star linebacker Brian Burns and Jaxson Dart.

“There’s no way in hell we are supposed to lose that game,” Burns said, via the New York Post, after wiping tears from his eyes. “We gave that to them.”

When it was Dart's turn to take the podium, the first-round pick kept it frank: “I’ve got to be way better. That s-—t is unacceptable,” the QB said. “We were in full control of that game.”

Obviously there's no world where the Giants should've been able to lose that game. And given how tough NY's schedule looks heading into the season's second half, this could be the beginning of a tough stretch for Big Blue.
