Brian Daboll's Classy Move After Getting Fired By Giants Surfaces

Brian Daboll is no longer employed by the New York Giants but he certainly did them a favor this week.

The Giants fired Daboll this past November after a 2-8 start to the 2025 season. He finished his tenure in New York with a 20-40-1 overall record. Although he was named Coach of the Year for leading the G-Men to the playoffs in 2022, he was unable to build off that positive momentum.

Despite being fired by the Giants roughly two months ago, Daboll still holds the franchise in high regard. In fact, he's urging John Harbaugh to become their next head coach.

According to Ian O'Connor of The Athletic, Daboll put in a good word for the Giants. He also raved about rookie quarterback Jaxson Dart, who finished the 2025 season with 2,272 passing yards, 487 rushing yards and 24 total touchdowns.

"Eli Manning and Brian Daboll are among the voices who have called John Harbaugh to give him a strong recommendation on Jaxson Dart and the Giants," O'Connor said. "Daboll showing some class here. Good for him."

The Giants are considered one of the top-three landing spots for Harbaugh. He's also being linked to the Atlanta Falcons and Tennessee Titans.

Where will Daboll end up?

On Friday, the Titans are expected to meet with Daboll and discuss their opening at head coach. If they believe he'd be a great fit with Cam Ward, maybe they'd offer him the job.

It's also possible Daboll ends up being a candidate for the Philadelphia Eagles' opening at offensive coordinator. For what it's worth, he has history working with Jalen Hurts.

"While Daboll flamed out as the Giants head coach, he had a strong run as the Bills’ offensive coordinator before that and was the OC and QBs coach at Alabama with Jalen Hurts in 2017," Dave Zangaro of NBC Sports Philadelphia. "Daboll, 50, was fired during his fourth season as the Giants head coach and finished with a 20-40-1 record."

Daboll should find work for the 2026 NFL season. It's just a matter of whether he's an assistant or he's actually leading a program.
