The Washington Commanders offense under Kliff Kingsbury does a host of things well. But none better than running the football.
Sitting at 8-5 on the season and now finally getting their bye week, the Commanders are one of the best teams in football when it comes to their ground game.
Averaging a cool 156.9 rushing yards per game, behind only the Philadelphia Eagles (188.9) and the Baltimore Ravens (179.1), the Commanders can bully teams on the ground.
With Jayden Daniels as a runner, coupled with Brian Robinson Jr., Austin Ekeler, Jeremy McNichols, and Chris Rodriguez, the Commanders have a wealth of options to rotate through.
And Robinson Jr. - doing some self-scouting - knows how potent the rushing attack is.
"Our running game is serious," Robinson said via ESPN. "We really do it the right way and stay on people's necks. We just got to believe in it."
Five times this season, the Commanders run game has achieved at least 200 rushing yards and it has been held under 100 yards just three times and ironically, lost all three.
So there is a formula that Kingsbury can follow, but what makes it so tough to stop is it isn't like Saquon Barkley in Philadelphia, where he's a one-man show; there's a quartet of players who can get yards.
Robinson Jr. (640), Ekeler (355), McNichols (249), and Rodriguez (150) have all had their way on the ground. What's more, none of those players mentioned average under 4.6 yards per carry, with McNichols and Rodriguez going at over 5.0 yards per clip. So, while some are rotational pieces, they pick up yards at will.
We haven't even added Jayden, who has 590 rushing yards and six touchdowns and averages 5.5 yards a carry, either.
And that all adds up to one "serious" run game for Washington.
