Britain Covey Snubbed For NFL Pro Bowl, Named As Alternate
USA TODAY Sports

Former Utah star receiver and return specialist Britain Covey found his niche in the NFL, which is returning punts and kicks.

He is among the best in the NFL to do so, as he leads the NFL in punt return yards and has had quite a few clutch returns that have helped the Eagles win games. Unfortunately for Covey and the fans who were campaigning for him to be named to the NFL Pro Bowl, he came up just short.

Instead, New Orleans Saints wide receiver/return specialist Rashid Shaheed was named to the Pro Bowl.

While Shaheed is a good player in his own right, aside from leading the NFL in punt return yards, Covey also averages more yards per punt return than Shaheed. While he did miss out, Covey was named as the second alternate.

This season, he has returned 28 punts for 408 yards with a long of 54 yards.
