Brock Bowers latest injury update cause for concern

The status of Las Vegas Raiders tight end Brock Bowers for Monday night’s game against the Los Angeles Chargers is still up in the air.

During the second half of Sunday’s game against the New England Patriots, Bowers appeared to tweak his knee. While he tried to work it out on the sideline, he was ultimately held out for the remainder of the game. Unsurprisingly, Bowers did find his way onto the injury report this week.

What does have some fans concerned, however, is the fact Bowers did not practice on Thursday.

Some are worried that Bowers will not be ready to go for Week Two.

On the “Locked On Raiders” podcast, Raiders beat writer Q Myers said that Bowers had a wrap on his leg, using that as evidence to suggest he will not play on Monday.

“All the reports coming out of [the Patriots] game was that he would be fine to go back into the game if they really needed him. They held him out for precautionary purposes. But seeing the compression sleeve on his leg, the entire leg on Thursday inside the Raiders locker room, definitely had cause for a concern,” said Myers.

Bowers said after the Patriots game that he was feeling better and did not suffer a major injury, but he was non-committal about playing in Week Two.

“Feeling a little better. Just working on it,” Bowers said. “I’m not sure, we’ll see how it’s feeling throughout the week, but I’m hoping to play.”

The Raiders could reasonably hold Bowers out in order to preserve him for the rest of the season, but being without their best offensive weapon will make a difficult matchup with the Chargers even more so.
