Brock Bowers is picking up right where he left off during his rookie season with the Las Vegas Raiders.
After a record-breaking rookie season, Bowers started off hot with five receptions and 103 receiving yards against the New England Patriots. He was held in check against the Los Angeles Chargers on Monday with five catches and 38 yards, but he was dealing with a knee injury and the offense as a whole struggled that night. Bowers is still the main engine when it comes to the Raiders offense, and he is always going to be a threat to make a big play every time the ball gets thrown his way.
That threat is not lost on anybody, and one of the game’s elite players at Bowers’s position understands how dangerous he is.
Prior to the game against the Chargers, future Hall of Fame tight end Rob Gronkowski spoke about what Bowers brings to the football field.
“Brock Bowers is a superior talent,” Gronkowski said. “I love what he’s doing at the tight end position. Just last year alone, over 100 catches, over a thousand yards. He had over a thousand yards in just the way that he produced with three different quarterbacks.”

It is incredible how Bowers has earned the respect from top NFL players so early on in his career.
Part of it comes from Bowers having the success he did with the Raiders featuring a less-than-stellar quarterback room. While Geno Smith drew some concerns after the Chargers game where he threw three interceptions, it is more likely that he will provide consistency at the position that was not there before. Once the Raiders have a long-term strategy in place under center, Bowers can truly shine as one of the elite offensive pieces in the NFL.
The Raiders are lucky to have a talent like Bowers on their roster, and they should do everything they can to do right by him.
