It’s Time to Take Brock Purdy Seriously as an MVP Frontrunner

After another dominant performance from Brock Purdy in Week 4 while facing the Denver Broncos, it is finally time to take him seriously as an MVP candidate rather than just a quarterback benefiting from his surroundings.

With Purdy leading qualifying starting quarterbacks in success rate and expected points added per drop back while also ranking second in yards per attempt and passer rating, it is clear he is combining consistent results while having value.

Brock Purdy’s Efficiency is Setting the Standard

Specifically Purdy has a success rate of 61.7%, +0.54 EPA per dropback, 8.91 yards per attempt and a passer rating of 126.24. The balance between his yards per attempt and success rate shows the balance needed for positive outcomes and substantial yardage per throw being achieved.

Four weeks along don’t decide the MVP award, as Purdy still has to sustain this play over the entire season, however, these stats do show that he has the early case to be leading the conversation to win the award.
