San Francisco 49ers quarterback Brock Purdy just returned from injury in Week 4, but he is already dealing with something new.
49ers coach Kyle Shanahan revealed Monday that Purdy complained of soreness in his toe after the team’s 26-21 loss to the Jacksonville Jaguars on Sunday at Levi’s Stadium in Santa Clara, Ca. Purdy suggested the soreness was not an issue during the game and only popped up afterward.
#49ers QB Brock Purdyy came in "complaining of some soreness in his toe" today, according to Kyle Shanahan. Purdy and Shanahan talked on the phone last night. Purdy said he had no issues during the game.

That is not exactly great news for the 49ers. Toe and shoulder injuries kept him out for Weeks 2 and 3, so for the toe to flare up again this quickly has to be somewhat concerning.
Making matters worse for San Francisco is the fact that the team’s Week 5 game is on Thursday against the Los Angeles Rams. The short week means Purdy will have very little time to recover, and might put his status in jeopardy.
Purdy threw for 309 yards and two touchdowns in Sunday’s losing effort, but was also intercepted twice and completed just 57.9 percent of his passes. Mac Jones would be in line to start again if Purdy cannot go.
