The Brock Purdy saga is finally over for the quarterback and the San Francisco 49ers, as the two sides have agreed on a five-year, $265 million contract extension for the former Iowa State Cyclones star signal-caller.

Purdy is determined not just to help the 49ers succeed but also to prove himself to all those who doubt his abilities on the field. He also knows that the best way to silence his critics is to lead San Francisco to the top.

Purdy showed complete belief in himself when he recently spoke about his place in the league.

Via Vic Tafur of The Athletic:

“There are only 32 starting quarterbacks,” Purdy said in a news conference on Wednesday. “I have had success in this league and have shown I can take a team all the way to the end, to the Super Bowl.”

He was later asked if left any money on the table.

“I think where we ended up was exactly where we needed to be,” Purdy said.

Purdy has come a long way in his football career. He was not viewed as someone who was going to be in the league a long time after he was selected last in the 2022 NFL draft. But he surely earned his current status as one of the clear starting quarterbacks in the NFL. So far in his pro career, Purdy has thrown for a total of 9,519 passing yards, 64 touchdowns and 27 interceptions on a 67.5 percent completion rate.
