The 2015 Broncos defense was one of the best in Denver Broncos team history and NFL history. Their stellar play led to a Super Bowl victory over the Carolina Panthers and cemented that unit as one of the best in football history.
During an interview with DNVR Broncos, Broncos linebacker Alex Singleton boldly claimed that after the additions in the offseason, the 2025 Broncos defense can reach the heights of the 2015 defense.
"Hey, let's be better than the 2015 defense," Singleton said. "That's what we need to chase. You have to chase it. When we start practicing here in a few weeks and OTAs, go get it then, we have to be best every single day to get where we want to go."

Singleton's goal of reaching the 2015 Broncos defensive level is a lofty one. The statistics from the Broncos' season suggest that the 2015 defense was one of the all-time most outstanding units in NFL history.
Wade Phillips' defense was ranked first in total defense [283.1 yards], first in pass defense [199.6 yards], first in sacks [52], third against the run [83.6 yards], fourth in scoring [18.5], and third in defensive touchdowns with 5.
In 2015, the Broncos unit played at an elite level and carried a struggling offense to the Super Bowl, where they shut down Cam Newton and the Panthers' dynamic offense.
While Singleton's goal of reaching the 2015 Broncos defense is lofty, it's a goal worth chasing. A decade later, the Broncos have built another great defense, at least on paper.
The defensive backs are great, the linebacker play will be among the best in 2025, and the defensive front will improve as the young stars develop.
If the Broncos defense can reach its potential, the 2025 unit could approach the elite levels that the 2015 unit showed en route to a Super Bowl victory.
