According to Luca Evans, Broncos DL Matt Henningsen was carted off the field from Friday’s training camp practice with an apparent injury and looked “visibly emotional.”

Mike Klis notes that Henningsen went down during an individual pass rushing drill.

It’s a rough break for Henningsen, who hasn’t appeared in a game since 2023 and missed all of last season due to an Achilles tear he suffered in August of last year.

Henningsen, 26, is a former sixth-round pick of the Broncos out of Wisconsin back in 2022. He signed a four-year, $3.8 million contract with the Broncos.

However, Henningsen has been on and off their roster ever since and agreed to a futures contract this past January. Denver re-signed Henningsen to a one-year deal in March.

For his career, Henningsen has appeared 34 games for the Broncos and recorded 40 tackles, a sack and two pass defenses.
