The Denver Broncos have many NFL Draft prospects on their radar, but only a few prospects are at the top of their list. Loveland is a prospect that is high on the Broncos’ list based on position need and potential with the offense.
As the 2025 NFL Draft gets closer, prospects like Michigan tight end Colston Loveland will continue to rise to a certain degree.
Loveland won't be rising too high as he can't work out for teams individually, the NFL Scouting Combine, and Pro Days as he recovers from shoulder surgery in January. His doctor sent a letter to all 32 teams with a prognosis on his injury and recovery that he will be cleared for training camp.
In a letter sent today to all 32 teams, Dr. Neal Elattrache wrote that he expects Michigan TE and projected first-round pick Colston Loveland to be ready to participate in minicamp and fully cleared for training camp despite undergoing surgery on his right shoulder last month. pic.twitter.com/8DN8Cz9e37

His doctor stated Loveland suffered a Type V AC dislocation early in the season. Loveland played most of the season with discomfort and played ten games for the Wolverines. He had a career season by catching 56 receptions for 582 yards and five touchdowns, was named second-team All-American, and was a finalist for the John Mackey Award.
Loveland is one of the most physically gifted pass-catchers in this draft class. At 6-5; 245 pounds, he is a red-zone threat, makes contested catches, and is hard to stop after the catch.
The Broncos will attempt to find their dynamic player and a solid runner or as head coach Sean Payton calls a ‘joker.’ Loveland is one of the few players who can match that play style of what Payton wants in a Joker.
If the Broncos pick with the No. 20 pick (or elsewhere in the draft), Loveland will be a player that will be healthy to install in the offense without pain or complications.
