The Denver Broncos are hosting a former rival running back for a visit.

Former Los Angeles Chargers running back J.K. Dobbins is set to visit with the Broncos on Wednesday night and Thursday, according to a report from The Denver Post.

The Broncos have some depth at running back but could use an established player like Dobbins.

Dobbins, 26, had a nice bounce-back season last year. He rushed for 905 yards and 9 touchdowns in 13 games with the Chargers and was their leading rusher. The big season came after Dobbins had suffered major injuries in 2021, 2022 and 2023. Dobbins missed all of 2021 with a torn ACL. He missed time in 2022 with another knee injury and only played in 8 games that season. Then in 2023, Dobbins suffered a torn Achilles tendon in Week 1. But Dobbins signed with the Chargers after previously playing for the Ravens and displayed strong form.

If Dobbins were to sign with the Broncos, he would join R.J. Harvey, Jaleel McLaughlin and Audric Estime.

Denver drafted Harvey in the second round with pick No. 60 overall. Harvey rushed for 1,577 yards and 22 touchdowns last season. He had 1,416 yards and 16 touchdowns in 2023. McLaughlin rushed for 496 yards and a touchdown in 16 games last season. Estime rushed for 310 yards and 2 touchdowns. Javonte Williams was the Broncos’ leading rusher last season, but he signed with the Cowboys in the offseason.
