There was some bad blood brewing between the New York Giants and Denver Broncos heading into the Week 7 matchup. Edge rusher Jonathon Cooper started in on the fun , throwing some shade at the Giants quarterback Jaxson Dart.
Fellow edge rusher and Broncos superstar Nik Bonitto piled on, throwing some shade of his own at the organization and the quarterback heading into the contest.
Dart shone in the loss, and Bonitto took notice of what the talented rookie was able to do. While he may not have gained a fan, Bonitto was quick to give Dart his flowers after the thrilling comeback victory. It's all love between the two sides, at least until their next matchup.
"I have to give him credit, he's a lot better than we all thought he was when we played them," Bonitto said. "He was obviously a really good player coming into the game. His feel for the game and his ability to be able to maneuver the pocket and make plays on the run.
"We even had a plan for it all week to be able to have eyes on him and rush him the right way," Bonitto added. "He was still able to go around and make plays. I was really impressed with him and I know as the years go on, he's going to be a really good player. He's definitely going to be something we're going to have to watch out for in the league."

The Denver defense is scary on paper , with Cooper and Bonitto setting the edge, and then in the backfield, having cornerbacks Pat Surtain and Riley Moss is a nightmare for opposing offensive coordinators to game-plan against. Despite the Broncos' defense having a game plan to slow down Dart, he still performed well in the matchup.
Denver leads the league in sacks and was able to bring Dart down four times in the contest, even forcing a crucial interception late in the contest.

Dart finished his day going 15-for-33 with 283 yards and three touchdowns in the air while adding five carries for 11 yards and a touchdown on the ground. Oftentimes, Dart could be seen scrambling out of the pocket for a huge gain in the early stages of the contest.
Even with the loss, Dart proved he belongs. His poise against one of the NFL's most relentless defenses showed maturity well beyond his years. Bonitto's postgame praise might've been unexpected, but it speaks volumes about how much respect the rookie earned inside one of the league's toughest venues.
