A Denver Broncos player was taken off the field in a stretcher on Sunday after a frightening scene unfolded on the sideline.

Broncos running back Tyler Badie took a huge hit from Jets linebacker Quincy Williams during the second quarter at MetLife Stadium in East Rutherford, New Jersey. Badie, who fumbled on the play, was able to walk off the field under his own power.

Once Badie got to the sideline, he dropped to a knee and then laid flat on his back. Trainers and medical personnel rushed over to tend to the former Missouri star. Badie appeared to be moving his limbs, but he was placed on a backboard and taken off the field.

The Broncos later announced that Badie was ruled out for the remainder of the game with a back injury.

Badie was drafted by the Baltimore Ravens in the sixth round of the 2022 NFL Draft. The Broncos signed him off Baltimore’s practice squad late last season. Badie was on Denver’s practice squad for most of last year and the start of this season before being elevated in Week 2.
