The Denver Broncos fell just short of a Super Bowl appearance in 2025. Their season ended with an AFC Championship Game loss to the New England Patriots. The Broncos were without quarterback Bo Nix after breaking his ankle in the divisional round win over the Buffalo Bills.

While Denver didn't end up hosting the Lombardi Trophy, 2026 provides a new opportunity. However, general manager George Paton faces some big challenges. Running backs J.K. Dobbins, Jaleel McLaughlin and Tyler Badie all have expiring contracts. Despite playing only 10 games, Dobbins's 772 rushing yards led the team while also having four touchdowns.

While all three could return, the Broncos may look at outside options. Vinnie Iyer of The Sporting News predicts that Denver will use the No. 62 pick in the 2026 NFL Draft on Notre Dame Fighting Irish running back Jadarian Price.

"Price should go in the second round after being the shadow of Jeremiyah Love," Iyer wrote. "He is an athletic, well-rounded back with three-down potential to be more efficient running for Denver.

Despite being the second option behind Love, a Heisman Trophy finalist, Price had an effective season. He accumulated 674 rushing yards and 11 touchdowns (career-high). He also hauled in six receptions for 87 yards and two touchdowns.

Over the past three seasons, his 1,692 rushing yards and 21 touchdowns have been a big piece to Notre Dame's success, which included a national championship appearance in 2024.

Even without a 1,000-yard season with the Fighting Irish, Price is considered one of the top prospects in the draft. Pro Football Focus ranks him as the second-best running back and No. 59 overall player available.

While the draft begins on April 23, the Broncos won't be using their second-round pick until day two on April 24.
