Broncos QB Teddy Bridgewater 'definitely' plans to continue playing after multiple concussions

Quarterback Teddy Bridgewater officially had his season come to a premature end earlier this week when the Denver Broncos placed him on injured reserve after they were eliminated from the playoffs. Bridgewater suffered a concussion during the fall and hasn't played since he was seemingly knocked-out cold during a loss to the Cincinnati Bengals in Week 15.

Per Spotrac, Bridgewater is set to hit free agency when the new NFL year opens in March, and the 29-year-old told reporters Thursday he "definitely" plans to continue his career either in Denver or elsewhere.

"I always say every time I get hit or every time I hit the ground, I ask God, 'Why am I doing this?' Then when I get up and come to work on a Wednesday and see these guys working hard, that’s why you do it," Bridgewater explained, according to Mike Klis of 9News. "The interactions you have with the guys in the locker room. The smiles you get to put on a fan’s face. The feeling of competing. That’s why you do this."

As noted by ESPN stats, Bridgewater enters Week 18 13th among eligible quarterbacks with a 94.9 passer rating, 21st in both total QBR (47.0) and passing yards (3,052), and he matched 18 touchdown passes with seven interceptions. It's been widely reported Denver will look to upgrade from both Bridgewater and Drew Lock at the sport's most important position this offseason.
