Broncos' Russell Wilson 'super confident' he'll play Thursday vs. Colts

Fans of the Denver Broncos were understandably concerned when they learned that star quarterback Russell Wilson was nursing a right shoulder injury coming off this past Sunday's loss to the Las Vegas Raiders that seemingly threatened his availability for this week's "Thursday Night Football" home game against the 1-2-1 Indianapolis Colts.

Wilson didn't seem too concerned as the 2-2 Broncos prepared on Tuesday for their upcoming challenge. Per Jeff Legwold of ESPN, the 33-year-old told reporters that he expects to be in the lineup against Indianapolis.

"Doing good, hanging in there," Wilson said about his status. " ... You get banged up a couple times here and there."

The nine-time Pro Bowl selection added that he is "super confident" he'll start Thursday's matchup.

Wilson completed 17 of 25 passes for 237 yards with two touchdowns and no interceptions to go along with a team-best 29 rushing yards and also a score on the ground in the loss to the Raiders. Legwold noted that Wilson "landed hard" at the end of multiple scrambles in the Week 4 defeat.

"We're just being smart with him," Broncos coach Nathaniel Hackett said of his QB1.

According to ESPN stats, Wilson will head into Thursday evening 16th among eligible quarterbacks with a 91.1 passer rating and 21st with a 44.9 total QBR on the campaign. He's completed 61.1% of his throws for 980 yards with four touchdowns and a single pick.
