Broncos' Sean Payton Makes John Franklin-Myers Announcement Amid Latest Development

This will come as a relief to many Denver Broncos fans, as Franklin-Myers had been the lone absentee during OTAs. However, the defensive lineman has been training on his own amid his absence.

Franklin-Myers will be entering his seventh year in the NFL, and his second with the Broncos. Prior to the 2024 season, the Broncos made a trade with the Jets to acquire Franklin-Myers.

At the time, Franklin-Myers was halfway through a four-year, $55 million contract. He restructured that contract with the Broncos for $15 million over the final two years.

However, in 2024, Franklin-Myers had a career year across the board. The defensive lineman collected 40 tackles, eight TFLs, 18 quarterback hits, and seven sacks.

Following his career year, Franklin-Myer hinted that he wanted a new deal as he would be entering a contract year.

When Franklin-Myer did not show up to OTAs, many assumed it was a contract situation holdout. However, his agent, Cliff Brady, said that was not the case.

"JFM hasn't been to OTAs for a few years now. No contract issues. He'll be there for minicamp," Brady said.

The Broncos concluded OTAs today and will have a mandatory three-day minicamp next week from Tuesday to Thursday.

Franklin-Myer ranked No. 4 on the team in sacks and TFLs in 2024. The Broncos will happily welcome the return of their impressive defensive lineman next week for mandatory minicamp.
