Broncos T Quinn Bailey Inks ERFA Tender
USA TODAY Sports

Denver Broncos offensive tackle Quinn Bailey officially signed his exclusive-rights free-agent (ERFA) tender on Tuesday, according to the NFL's transaction wire.

The tender, worth $940,000 for the 2023 campaign, was first applied March 13 by the Broncos, who also tendered inside linebacker Jonas Griffith and punter Corliss Waitman (withdrawn March 22).

ERFAs are defined as players who have fewer than three accrued seasons. Bailey, a 2019 undrafted free agent and longtime practice-squadder, has only one accrued season — last season, in which he appeared in eight games and made his first career start amid the club's Week 18 win over the Chargers.

“Not a lot of guys are on practice squads for four years before they get their first start,’’ Bailey told 9NEWS before the finale. “But it’s been good. I’ve gotten a chance to play quite a bit this year compared to other years and it’s been good to get that experience.”

Bailey, 27, is the seventh OT listed on Denver's offseason roster and could compete for a backup spot behind starters Garett Bolles and Mike McGlinchey. The lot of them were in attendance Tuesday as new head coach Sean Payton held an inaugural team meeting to kick off Phase 1 of Denver's training program.

"It's probably going to be, I don't want to say no-nonsense, but here are the things that are going to help us win," Payton said of the first meeting. "That's kind of where we're at a little bit. This offseason for us needs to be difficult... Right now, I think it's a little bit more like, alright, we're rolling up our sleeves a little bit."
