Broncos TE Noah Fant praises both Drew Lock, Teddy Bridgewater

Eventually, Denver Broncos coach Vic Fangio will have to select either 2019 draft pick Drew Lock or veteran Teddy Bridgewater as his starting quarterback for the regular-season opener against the New York Giants on Sept. 12. As of Wednesday, though, Fangio intends to start Lock for this Saturday's preseason matchup versus the Minnesota Vikings but then give Bridgewater first-team reps against the Seattle Seahawks on Aug. 21.

Understandably, Denver tight end Noah Fant did well to praise both signal-callers while recently speaking with Mike Klis of 9News.

"Both of those guys are great in the locker room, though. Great leaders," Fant explained during his comments. "Both of them are super friendly to everybody. They lead the team, lead the huddle. So I’m excited to see what happens. My biggest thing is, whichever quarterback can get us the ball, that’s the one I want to be in there (laughs). Hopefully, I get a couple extra balls this year."

Fant continued:

"Both have different styles of game. Everybody knows Teddy is the more thought-out thinker and he’s going to anticipate his throws more. And you have Drew who has that arm talent where he can go on the fly. He can put the ball where he needs it. It just depends what our offensive coordinator is going for, what our coaches are looking for, I think they’re both great quarterbacks."

Since joining the Broncos as a first-round draft pick in 2019, Fant has recorded 102 receptions for 1,235 yards and six touchdowns across 31 regular-season games. Expect both Lock and Bridgewater to rely heavily on the 23-year-old during practices and exhibition contests as they attempt to win the starting gig before Labor Day.
