Broncos' Von Miller misses practice again due to ankle injury before Washington game

Coming off four straight defeats that dropped the Denver Broncos to 3-4 on the season, quarterback Teddy Bridgewater essentially said Wednesday that this coming Sunday's game against the 2-5 Washington Football Team is must-win if Denver is going to turn things around and avoid a potential fire sale ahead of Tuesday's trade deadline.

Later that day, it was learned that Denver star pass-rusher Von Miller had missed back-to-back practice sessions this week because of the ankle sprain he suffered in last Thursday's 17-14 loss at the Cleveland Browns.

The bad news for Broncos fans is that Miller was once again a non-participant on Thursday. However, Josh Alper of Pro Football Talk notes that Denver head coach Vic Fangio said the issue has "alleviated some" during the midweek and that Miller could sit again Friday but still play Sunday.

"We still have Friday’s practice, too," Fangio explained. "Von’s a veteran player so we feel a little bit more comfortable playing him with limited practice. We’ll see how it goes. It’s more coming down to him physically."

Miller won AFC Defensive Player of the Month honors for September and, per ESPN stats, leads the team with 4.5 sacks and seven tackles for loss this season.
