As Kevin Patra noted for the NFL's official website, Denver Broncos leading wide receiver Courtland Sutton suffered a torn ACL during his team's 26-21 loss to the Pittsburgh Steelers on Sept. 20.
Per Michael David Smith of Pro Football Talk, Broncos general manager George Paton says that the 25-year-old receiver is already back on the field and running routes
"I just saw him running routes on the field, so that was fun," Paton said. "That made my day. He’s working hard. He’s a great player, he’s a great worker, he’s a great leader. He’s the type of player we want here."
Sutton missed the first game of the 2020 season with an AC joint injury and then went down to the torn ACL while making a tackle following an interception. Somewhat ironically, Cleveland Browns superstar wideout Odell Beckham Jr. also tore an ACL trying to make a play after an interception the following month.
Sutton recorded 72 receptions for 1,112 yards and six touchdowns in 2019, his second NFL season. He's on track to be on the field for Week 1 of the 2021 campaign.
