Myles Garrett and the Cleveland Browns are facing the New England Patriots on Sunday for a Week 8 matchup. At 2-5, the Browns' only wins going into the game were against the Green Bay Packers and the Miami Dolphins.

Despite Cleveland's lack of success, Garrett has been solid. He had accumulated 25 tackles, five sacks, 10 tackles for loss, 10 quarterback hits, and 15 pressures through seven games.

Going into Week 8 against the Patriots, Garrett had 107.5 sacks since joining the NFL in 2017. In the first quarter on third and goal, he sacked quarterback Drake Maye, giving him a total of 108.5 career sacks.

On that play, Garrett passed Pro Football Hall of Famer Reggie White (108) for the most sacks before turning 30 years old.

"As Garrett beat the Patriots on the edge early in the first quarter, he zeroed in on QB Drake Maye to take him down for the sack," Kelsey Russo of the team's official website wrote. "That sack set an NFL record for the most sacks by a player under the age of 30. Garrett surpassed Reggie White, who had 108 sacks, and sets the record with 108.5 sacks."

The Browns also celebrated with an X post, captioned "truly a one-of-a-kind talent."

Garrett, Cleveland's No. 1 pick in the 2017 NFL Draft, has lived up to expectations. Through his first eight seasons, he earned six Pro Bowl appearances, four First-Team All-Pro selections and was the 2023 Defensive Player of the Year.

The NFL's all-time sack leader is Bruce Smith (200), but by the end of his career, Garrett could be in contention to take over.

It wasn't the only record he broke, either. During the fourth quarter, Garrett recorded his fifth sack of the game. The Browns announced that it's a new single-game franchise record, surpassing himself.

Following the Week 8 game against the Patriots, Garrett and the Browns have a bye week, then face the New York Jets on the road in Week 10.
