Browns’ Jerry Jeudy has hilarious social media response to crazy rumor that nearly kept him away from Cleveland

Perhaps the best thing the Cleveland Browns have going for them this season is the emergence of wideout Jerry Jeudy.

Jeudy has had the breakout year that Cleveland saw coming when they traded a fourth and fifth-round draft pick for him last offseason. Jeudy has proven he is a No. 1 option with 1,052 receiving yards in 14 games played.

However, news came out today that Jeudy nearly wasn’t a member of the Browns. The New York Jets originally looked to trade for Jeudy, but it didn’t happen for quite an insane reason, according to a report from The Athletic.

“The Broncos felt a deal was near. Then, abruptly, it all fell apart. In Denver’s executive offices, they couldn’t believe the reason why. Douglas told the Broncos that Johnson didn’t want to make the trade because the owner felt Jeudy’s player rating in “Madden NFL,” the popular video game, wasn’t high enough, according to multiple league sources. The Broncos ultimately traded the receiver to the Cleveland Browns. Last Sunday, Jeudy crossed the 1,000-yard receiving mark for the first time in his career.” - The Athletic

Jeudy had the perfect response on X this morning about the Madden rating. He blamed a former Cincinnati Bengal, who is known for working with Madden on player ratings.

It is all a joke to Jeudy and for the trade not to go through is a wild scenario. Cleveland is surely happy that it worked out the way it did. The Browns have their No. 1 wide receiver to build around and he will be a crucial part of the team going forward.

With three games left on the season, Jeudy has a chance to pile up the yards a bit more and perhaps finish in the top-3 when it comes to receiving in the NFL.
