Browns' Joe Flacco can pass Tom Brady in all-time record this season

The Browns (10-5) can clinch a playoff spot with a win against the Jets (6-9) on "Thursday Night Football" and put QB Joe Flacco one step closer to breaking one of Tom Brady's all-time records.

"Do you know who has the most road playoff wins right now in NFL history? [Flacco] is tied with Tom Brady. They each have seven," ESPN's Adam Schefter said on "The Pat McAfee Show." "So, Joe Flacco this postseason could potentially become the all-time NFL postseason road warrior."

There's still a possibility Cleveland could be the AFC's No. 1 seed by the end of the regular season, which would give the team home field advantage throughout the playoffs and prevent Flacco from passing Brady. However, that seems a little unlikely at this point as it would need several things to play out.

Currently sitting as the No. 5 seed, the Browns look like they'll give Flacco at least one shot to break Brady's record come January. It would certainly only add to his incredible comeback after he was sitting on his couch up until late November.

The 38-year-old has since led Cleveland to three wins in its last four games, throwing for 1,307 yards, 10 touchdowns and seven interceptions.

Flacco's impressive return to play has some believing the team should stick with him past 2023. But Schefter thinks it would take an incredible finish to the season for it to even consider that.

"I still think that Deshaun Watson is their quarterback and their quarterback of the future," Schefter added. "If he gets the Browns to the Super Bowl and they win it, that question is going to come up a lot. But short of that ... I can't see them not sticking with Deshaun."

It would be quite the story if the Browns were hoisting their franchise's first Lombardi Trophy at the end of the season with a quarterback that was available all along. For now, they are surely focused on just making the postseason and helping Flacco get some bragging rights over Brady.
