Browns LT Jedrick Wills Jr. questionable with ankle injury

The Cleveland Browns dodged a significant setback when starting left tackle Jedrick Wills Jr. was listed as "day-to-day" with the ankle injury that caused him to be carted off the field in last Sunday's season-opening loss at the Kansas City Chiefs.

Cleveland fans cannot yet breathe any sighs of relief about the Browns' offensive line.

Per Andrew Gribble of the Browns' website, Wills didn't practice this week and is considered questionable for Sunday's home opener against the Houston Texans. Additionally, backup Chris Hubbard is ruled out with a triceps injury, so rookie James Hudson III and/or "utility man" Blake Hance could be called into action to play Wills' position this weekend.

"You see who's available to you on game day, and you make a ton of decisions based on that, and that's really across the board," head coach Kevin Stefanski said of the issue on Friday. "I can think of certain scenarios where we didn't have a starter in there on defense and we did a little bit less of this or a little bit more of that. That's the natural thing to do when you have a guy playing maybe out of position or a guy playing for the first time. All those things go into how you construct a game plan."

Stefanski confirmed Wednesday that star wide receiver Odell Beckham Jr. won't play against Houston as he continues his recovery from the torn ACL he suffered last October.
