The Cleveland Browns made it official this offseason after 27 years at Huntington Bank Stadium, the franchise is moving forward with plans for a brand new home and preparing to break ground in the near future. It’s a major shift for a team that has called the lakefront its base for nearly three decades.

A new stadium means a new chapter, not just for the organization but for the city as well. The Browns have made it clear they’re thinking long term, and this development could reshape the fan experience for generations to come.

The Browns took to X to share an update regarding the stadium construction. The caption said, “A big first step in the growth of the region ahead of the official groundbreaking next month.”

The Cleveland Browns took a major step forward this week as construction crews officially began carving out the site for the new Huntington Bank Field in Brook Park. Heavy machinery is now on the ground, starting what will become one of the most ambitious development projects the region has ever seen.

Backed by more than $2 billion in private funding from the Haslam Sports Group, the enclosed stadium is part of a larger $3.4 billion vision that includes a surrounding entertainment district. The venue is expected to seat around 67,500 fans and host everything from football to major concerts and marquee sporting events year-round.

Local leaders emphasized that the project isn’t just about a new home for the Browns. Thousands of construction jobs are expected over the next several years, with a strong focus on hiring from Northeast Ohio. With an official groundbreaking scheduled for April 30 and a targeted opening in 2029, the transformation is officially underway in Ohio.
