Browns might make an odd Myles Garrett decision

The Cleveland Browns have the best defensive player in the game, but that hasn't done much to help their cause.

As such, and given their current agreement to rework his then-record-breaking contract, fans and analysts continue to speculate about a potential trade.

Nevertheless, ESPN insider Dan Graziano doesn't see that happening any time soon. If anything, he thinks the Browns want to make him even more comfortable.

In the latest edition of "Get Up," Graziano predicted that the Browns might even give Garrett a bump in his salary.

The Cowboys could give Myles Garrett a raise

"The Browns have been steadfast and adamant that they have no interest in trading Myles Garrett, even last year when he was publicly asking for a trade," Graziano said (via Daniel Oyefusi).  "I think it's more likely that Myles Garrett gets another contract bump from the Browns this offseason than gets traded."

Garrett is about to enter the second year of his contract extension, so the Browns don't have any actual reason or incentive to do so.

Even if he's the best defensive player in the game, arguably the best player in the league, and a future first-ballot Hall of Famer, he's still under contract for years.

He skipped voluntary workouts, but he's done that routinely, and even though he was a strong advocate for and fan of former defensive coordinator Jim Schwartz, there's no reason to believe he's not motivated to play for head coach Todd Monken.

There's no need whatsoever to give him more money at this point. Then again, the Browns have said all the right things about wanting to keep him in town, so they might want to double down on that and end the trade rumors once and for all with another big raise.
