The Cleveland Browns announced a number of roster moves to start a new week, and a former member of the Kansas City Chiefs found himself on the unfortunate side of things after being released to make room for new players.

Former Chiefs defensive back Trey Dean was among the players let go by the Browns on Monday in order to make room for a handful of new signings—including two veteran safeties in Rayshawn Jenkins and Damontae Kazee.

Dean, who just turned 25 years old, was signed to a futures deal back in the winter by the Browns. He'd already earned a place on the team's practice squad in October after signing with the team following his release from Kansas City.

Former Chiefs safety Trey Dean is looking for his fourth NFL team.

It took Dean a couple of months to find a new home after being released by the Chiefs. The Chiefs cut the safety coming into training camp last summer after employing him on the 90-man roster for the majority of the offseason. He's signed a futures deal with the Chiefs going into the 2024 campaign following the team's Super Bowl loss to the Eagles.

Brett Veach initially signed Dean to the practice squad during the team's postseason run toward a historic three-peat attempt.

Dean has yet to appear in an NFL game despite earning long looks, both during the offseason and in-season, with the New York Jets, Chiefs, and Browns.

Coming into the NFL, Dean had loads of experience with 62 games played in five seasons at the University of Florida. He had 4 career interceptions for the Gators.
