Browns Pro Bowler Wyatt Teller wants Baker Mayfield to 'have success wherever he goes'

Cleveland Browns quarterback Baker Mayfield continues to receive endorsements from teammates now that he's been replaced by Deshaun Watson atop the club's depth chart.

Earlier this month while Mayfield remained away from organized team activities, Browns All-Pro defensive end Myles Garrett remarked that the 27-year-old will "land on his feet" somewhere and "can do some pretty good things for a team" when healthy and not dealing with a serious injury to his non-throwing shoulder as he did last season.

Mayfield was later excused from attending this week's mandatory minicamp, and All-Pro left guard Joel Bitonio told reporters Wednesday that the first overall pick of the 2018 draft "did a lot for this franchise," "won a lot of games," and "was a great player for us." As minicamp wrapped up on Thursday, guard Wyatt Teller also wished the signal-caller well.

"I want to see him have success wherever he goes," Teller said of Mayfield, per Myles Simmons of Pro Football Talk. "There’s a business side and there’s a personal side. The business side gets a little nasty, but the personal side never changes. We’re all a brotherhood."

Mayfield continues to be linked with the Carolina Panthers, but it's believed Carolina wants Cleveland to eat a large chunk of the fully guaranteed $18.858 million he's owed for 2022 as part of any trade. It's thought the Panthers and possibly the Seattle Seahawks are waiting for the Browns to cut Mayfield so either team can sign him without having to send assets to Cleveland.
