Browns QB Baker Mayfield earns FedEx Air Player of the Week honors

Fans were clearly impressed by the performance Cleveland Browns quarterback Baker Mayfield produced in last Sunday's 41-35 victory over the Tennessee Titans that propelled the Browns to 9-3 on the season. 

Mayfield earned FedEx Air Player of the Week honors for Week 13 after he tossed four touchdowns in the first half and ended the Tennessee game with 334 passing yards, a passer rating of 147.0 and a total QBR of 87.6.

The battle for the award wasn't close, as Mayfield won 70% of the fan votes tallied. Detroit Lions QB Matthew Stafford finished second (20%), followed by Derek Carr of the Las Vegas Raiders.

According to Jeff Risdon of Browns Wire, this was the first time in 2020 that Mayfield received a nomination for FedEx Air Player of the Week. The 25-year-old won AFC Offensive Player of the Week for Week 7 after he connected on five touchdown passes in a comeback win over the Cincinnati Bengals on Oct. 25 

Mayfield and the Browns were in national headlines earlier in the day when the NFL announced that a Week 15 showdown between Cleveland and the New York Giants has been flexed to the "Sunday Night Football" time slot for Dec. 20. The Giants enter this Sunday's matchup with the Arizona Cardinals at 5-7 and atop the NFC East standings thanks to a tiebreaker Big Blue holds over the 5-7 Washington Football Team.
