Browns 'retire' All-Pro Myles Garrett from offseason basketball

Cleveland Browns All-Pro pass rusher Myles Garrett has often raised eyebrows via the stellar basketball skills he's displayed in social-media videos, including one that he posted last week:

Now that the 25-year-old has reported for organized team activities, Browns coach Kevin Stefanski said during Wednesday's media session Garrett is back to being a one-sport star.

"He retired," Stefanski explained about Garrett's on-the-court endeavors, per George M. Thomas of the Akron Beacon Journal. "So congratulations on a great career for Myles. I’m really proud of him, but he’s done."

Meanwhile, Garrett suggested fans could see him delivering posterizing dunks at some point next offseason.

"I feel it’s more like a [Michael] Jordan retirement," he said. "I went to baseball/basketball for a second and now I have to go back to what I’m good at, which I usually do, which is playing football, rushing the passer, stopping the run.

"Next season you never know. I may go back to basketball. I may go play baseball, see if I can get on a team. There’s more on the horizon [but] right now I have to go back to what my main focus is."

Back in April ahead of the NFL Draft, Garrett told reporters Cleveland's defense is "gonna look very scary" following the additions of safety John Johnson, 2017 first-round selection Takkarist McKinley and 2014 No. 1 draft pick Jadeveon Clowney via free agency.
